Caleb Group Walk – 14th May 2021

17 of us gathered at Chinthurst Hill car park for the first Caleb Group walk for some months.  We divided into 3 groups (to comply with the rule of six), led by Christine Sweeting, Liz Tilley and James Cooke, the last one doing a slightly shorter walk than the others.

The weather was warm and dry and we enjoyed good company and good views, passing Tangley Manor and Chilworth Manor before crossing the A248 our way to Blackheath war memorial, where we stopped for our picnic lunch. After a leisurely time there we returned to the car park via Rosemary Hill.  It was refreshing to enjoy ‘freedom’ once again in the lovely Surrey countryside.  Many thanks to Christine for devising the walk.

Our next walk is on Monday, 19th July (10 am) starting and finishing at the Abinger Hatch pub. It’s a fairly gentle 5 mile walk with some great views, ending up with lunch at the pub. Please get in touch James if you’d like to come – james.cooke2015@gmail.com.
