Lent at Wonersh Church

Lent is a time to stop and reflect, to create opportunities to put aside the normal routine and consider what the Easter story means for us today. Easter is about sacrifice, but that is not a term or concept that we often think about. In many ways, daily life is a sacrifice, either through the things that we do, or not do. Wonersh Church is therefore taking time each Sunday evening through lent to consider 'Sacrificial Living' through different media. Dates and topics are as follows:

Ash Wednesday - 26/02/20 8pm in Wonersh Church marking the start of the period of Lent.

Every Sunday morning in church - a Lenten study reflecting how different people changed their life.

Every Sunday evening in church - a different approach to Lent, all between 6-7pm.
March 1st - The meaning of Sacrifice - Bishop Michael Baughan - a review of the biblical approach to sacrifice and its impact upon our daily lives.
March 8th - Lent through the lens of Art - an opportunity to share thoughts and images of the meaning of Lent and Christ's Passion.
March 15th - Sacrificial Living through a sustainable approach - ideas and reflections from the Wonersh Sustainability Group.
March 22nd - Lent and sacrifice in word - ideas and thoughts from a range of authors on making a sacrifice.
March 29th - Lent through the lens of Music - an evening of inspirational music.
